What Is a Dental Implant?
A dental implant is comprised of two parts: a titanium post, and a porcelain crown. The post is inserted into the jawbone and given time to fuse with it. It stimulates the jawbone much like a natural tooth root would.
Once the jawbone has successfully accepted the implant, a crown is placed atop the post. These crowns are made of fine, durable porcelain and look just like your natural teeth.
Benefits of Dental Implants
Dental implants are used in a number of dental procedures, and come with many benefits, including:
- Jawbone health: The tooth roots’ stimulation of the jawbone is critical to ensuring the jaw remains healthy, functional, and free of infection. If a tooth rots or falls out, the integrity of the jawbone can quickly become compromised. Dental implants prevent the negative effects of infection from spreading beyond the afflicted area. They keep your jaw working and feeling as it should.
- A fresh new look: Individual dental implants are great for filling in holes left by missing teeth. They’re also used to reinforce both full and partial permanent dentures. In all, implants are a long-lasting solution to tooth loss and bone decay.
- A great fit and feel: At Scott R. Adishian, D.D.S. Inc., our dental implants paired with beautiful porcelain crowns will look and feel natural inside your mouth. They’ll blend in with your surrounding teeth while also providing subtle improvement to the aesthetic of your smile.

Teeth in One Day
Teeth in One Day is a dental implant procedure that doesn’t require a healing period like regular implants do. When an implant is inserted into the jawbone, it usually needs time to fuse to the bone before a permanent crown can be placed.
But with the Teeth-in-One-Day procedure, we can install temporary crowns or dentures immediately after the implant is placed, so you can enjoy a full smile right away.
