If you would like to improve the color, shape, size, or length of your teeth, ask Dr. Scott R. Adishian about dental veneers in Pasadena, California. The veneer process is one in which a covering is placed on the part of a tooth that is visible when talking or smiling. This covering recreates the effect of a new tooth. Color and shape of the teeth may be easily modified.

The technique usually involves two appointments. At the first appointment, the teeth are prepared, impressions are made, and the teeth are protected with a temporary covering. The impressions are sent to our dental laboratory, which creates the veneers out of porcelain. At the second appointment, the temporary covering is removed and the veneers are securely bonded to the teeth.

One advantage of using veneers instead of crowns is that very little tooth material is removed and the procedure is generally easier, faster, and more comfortable. Veneers are generally recommended for teeth that have small fillings or minimal loss of tooth structure or where changes in the color or shape of the teeth are desirable.
